The Billionaire's Architect Chapter 20

I laughed real hard that students passing by looked at me while I went crazy with Ethan’s question. I wasn’t even sure if Ethan was asking me or if he really wanted me to do it. Is he crazy because I am going crazy?

Make Gray fall in love with me? How can we make someone fall in love with us? Is love supposed to be like that? I wasn’t informed because the last time I checked, love is still a feeling, and we just can’t ask someone to fall in love with us. I always knew love as something given to us by the universe. That before we are even born, we already have our other half.

“Are you starting a deal with me?” I asked him.

He shook his head.

“No. It’s just…” He sighed. “If he fell in love with you, then, we are all gonna be happy together. You love him, right?”

He was right. That would really be nice and convenient on my part, too, yet it wasn’t that easy especially since he doesn’t seem to be over with Vivian yet. How can I beat Vivian in his life?

“Are you sure Vivian no longer loves him?”

I fired back because as a girl, I could feel that Vivian still has feelings for Gray. It might not be like before, but I could feel that she never lost her feelings. Maybe, she was just torn between the two and up until now she’s still if she did the right thing especially now that she saw me a threat to Gray’s attention.

I thought that maybe Vivian just made the wrong call before because of passion and she was caught in the act so she decided to go with it because of whatever principles she believed. Ugh! I hate thinking about her side, yet I felt like I want to know to understand her too.

“I need to trust, Vivian.”

“You are not answering the question just like how Gray wasn’t able to answer my question. You are really brothers.” I scowled, remembering Gray again. I hate that I love him even after everything.

“There are moments when I felt that Vivian’s really regretting her decision.” He honestly replied. “I could feel it and I could see it. I am not dumb. But, what should I do?”

“Do you really love Vivian?” I asked.

“Do you love Gray?”

“How should we define love?”

We both laughed and fell into silence. How nice would it be to just fall in love with Ethan before, right? What if I choose him before? What will happen knowing that his brother is the one I am looking for. Will mistakes happen, too? There’s a lot of possibilities about life that I just hate.

“I love him, Ethan.” I stood up from my seat when I realized it was already time for my class and I spent too much talking to him that it’s ruining my inner peace. I thought being with Gray will make me at ease, but there’s just too many issues.

“But, he doesn’t love me.”

“You are not sure about it. He likes you. You are together. Why would he--”

“Maybe because he’s trying to convince himself that he already moved on.” I shrugged. “I don’t know. But…” I glanced at Ethan and shook my head. “Settle your issues with Gray first, okay? I hope you both will be okay in the future.”

“I doubt that.” Ethan stood up and stared at me with a sad smile on his face.

“Time heals all wounds and…”

“Not us, Deanara. Not our wounds.”

“Thank you for the coffee. I have my class so I need to go.” I smiled at him. “I’ll see you around.”

“I will see you on my birthday.”

“What?”

He handed me an invitation on his birthday.

“Why are you giving this so early?” I reacted when I saw that there’s still a month before his birthday. “Is this something really extravagant or what that it needed to be--”

“I will propose to Vivian on my birthday.” He stated.

“Why are you telling me that?” I asked, confused.

“I don’t want Gray to stop the proposal or do something that would ruin it,” he firmly said those words. “Be there, please?”

“What am I going to do at your birthday party?” I scowled. “Do you want me to be with Gray and…” I paused. This is getting out of hand now. I think I already know what he wants me to do.

“Do everything just don’t…”

“Do you believe that Gray will stop the proposal?” I frowned at him. I am not sure yet I don’t think Gray will do it. It was like Vivian would do it more than Gray.

“That your brother would ruin you like you ruin him?”

“Deanara, please understand me--”

I raised my palm and stopped him.

“Let me get this clear, Ethan.” I heaved. “We are friends. But, you hurt your brother.” I pulled the invitation from him and eyed him. “I will go to your party not for you but for Gray. Please take note of that.” I said, not really sure why I acted like that.

I'm already tired of their issues. I should have not gotten myself between them in the first place. I should stop this. Why didn’t I say that? It’s not like the proposal will happen. Why do I feel like it will not happen because Vivian and Gray are already enjoying their time together that he even forgot about me...his girlfriend. So, probably, I am no longer his girlfriend.

I turned my back and walked away. My feet were shaking and I couldn’t believe that I told Ethan that. Well, he got it into my nerves. I am really pissed at his attitude. He was the one who hurted Gray and now he was thinking that Gray would do it to him. Ugh! Gray should not do it or I just wasted my effort facing Ethan like that. Plus, he doesn’t deserve Vivian. I hope he will take note of that. Not that he deserves me, either, but not Vivian, who cheated on him with his brother.

They should both settle their issues. Ugh! I hate them. I started hating the world when I met them. I don’t want to regret it but people are making me regret it.

“Oh. Why do you look like that?” Lyuna asked me upon bumping into me in the hallway. She was holding her paraphernalia going to the library while I was hurriedly going back to the faculty to get my things.

“Aren’t you happy to see Gray?” She added, which made me confused.

“What?” My brows narrowed. “What do you mean?”

“Gray is waiting, looking for you.” She started with a smile on her face. She even giggled saying, “He even had a bouquet of flowers for you.”

I calmed myself. Damn! Just the mere name of Gray could already make my heart flutter.

“Are you sure it was Gray?” I confirmed. Ethan told me Gray was in Cebu so it would be impossible for him to come unless he flew. He didn’t even call me. What is this? Is he surprising me?

“Yeah. He talked to me and since I don’t know where you are, I told him to just look for you.”

“He also went your way. You didn’t see him?”

Before I could react to her, a group of students started running towards the park bench where I just stayed a while ago. Lyuna and I wouldn’t pay attention to it because they might be getting excited at the varsity players since it’s already time for their practice. However, we heard students calling for help so we ran to their direction only to see Gray and Ethan fighting with each other.

“You gotta be kidding me!” I whispered to myself and passed by the students to stop them.

The nerve of them to create a scene here! They really won’t get along with each other and yeah they will never be able to settle their issues as long as there's a girl between them.

“What the hell are you doing?” I said, mad. What? Out of all the places in this world, they chose to fight in the university they don’t even go to. They are just visitors here and they acted like they own this place. I am working here and the dean might call me if he knew I was the reason.

Okay. I don’t know if I am the reason, but maybe, ugh! This is giving me a headache.

“Why are you fighting?” I yelled, but they seemed to be not hearing me as of the moment as they exchanged punches in each other’s faces until Ethan was able to pin Gray down. He was about to punch Gray in the face when one of the faculty members stopped them. Should I just let them kill themselves instead?

“Sir,” Sir Anton calmly said while holding on Ethan and Sir Lucas was helping Gray. “With all due respect, but this university isn’t a boxing ring.”

Gray hit and drew blood on the side while Ethan was wiping his face. Ugh! This is giving me a headache especially when they both looked at me, waiting for me to do something. What do they want me to do when they are ruining my mood? So, now, it’s my fault?

“We believe you are not a student here, so we do not have any right to hold you but if you repeat this again, then we have no choice but to send you for disciplinary action.” Sir Lucas noted as he glanced at me asking if I knew them.

Sir Anton started shoving the students away and made sure that no one captured a video of them fighting over something that I do not want to know. Maybe, they are fighting over Vivian. The hell I care! They are giving me pain and all I want is to just vanish right now.

“Do you want me take over your class so you can--”

I stopped Lyuna from what she was about to say.

“No. I don’t have anything to talk about.” I said, turning to Sir Lucas. “You can let them go.”

“Sir…” Sir Lucas said. “Let me guide you outside, peacefully.”

“No. I will not leave unless Deanara talks to me,” Gray firmly said, standing on his ground.

“I have my class.” I replied.

“I will wait for you.”

I glanced at him, trying to figure out what he’s up to because I could no longer get him. I mean, what is he doing here? Why is he fighting with Ethan? Ugh! They ruined my mood. As much as I wanted to hug Gray or even help him with his wounds, I still hate him whenever I remember about him and Vivian.

“Talk to him peacefully,” Sir Anton ordered. “We don’t want another fight to happen. We’ll take over your class.”

I sighed. “Fine. I’ll go get my things and come back here.” I turned to Gray before turning to Ethan.

“Lyuna can accompany you out, Ethan.” I coldly said to him. “Please come with her.”

I didn’t wait for them to say a thing and went directly to the faculty. I felt the stare of the students and I just hate it because I know I am already the topic of their conversation. Some of them might even think that I am so lucky as two handsome guys are fighting over me when in fact, I am not.

After packing my things, I went out to the locker room, to see Gray standing. He still has blood on the side of his lips and the sides of his cheeks were bruised, same with his eyes. He didn’t even bother putting something on it while waiting for me.

“What do you want to talk about?” I asked him.

My heart almost skipped a beat when he told me, “I love you.”
