Rupert's POV.
It's been more than three weeks since I become the alpha of the Wildfang shadow pack, I have been too busy trying to fit stuff, so many loopholes under the rulership of my father, the former alpha, and also, I am trying to gather evidence against alpha David and Damien, so I could stop their illegal brothel.
I always end up working late in the office that I haven't gone back to the castle none heard anything about Iris.
"Alpha Rupert, do you want to bring Alpha David and Alpha Damien before the council?" Beta Mason questions as he drops the files on the table.
"Of cause, dragging underage to work in the brothel because their family or alpha sold them to him is not something that the law wouldn't frown at." I didn't give him a look as I pack my stuff.
"But alpha, not having sufficient evidence to drag them before the council will lead to a dead end." Gamma Lauren comment, I look at him, as I take to my feet.
"You should know me, I am only trying to do what is right, if not I would wage war against them already, and with what Iris went through in the hands of that worthless alpha David." I grabbed my stuff.
"Where are you going?" Campbell asked he is my delta.
"Home, I have been away for too long and I haven't spoken to Iris for so long, I need to tell her about my new plans on how to get her pack back." I noticed that Campbell, Lauren, and Mason's eyes were moving from one another.
"What is it?" I asked, their eye movement is been suspicious. "Can you speak already?" I growled.
"The thing is Iris left the same day of your coronation."
“Campbell and you didn’t deem it fit to tell me?”
“I wanted to but I swear to her not to say a word to you.” I could see the guilt in Campbell's eyes as I glare at him.
“where the fuck did she say she is going?” I snarled.
“she went to…” I grabbed my chest in pain before Campbell could complete his statement.
"Alpha Rupert." My beta rushed towards me, I fell back to the chair, the pain in my chest was unbearable.
"What is it alpha Rupert?" Gamma Lauren worried voice hit me.
"Iris, she is in trouble." I managed to mouth. "damn, I have to go to her" I managed to stand on my feet, if I could feel the pain like this, then it must have been unbearable for her.
"What if she is really in trouble, are you going to start a fight with the Goldfang pack."
"I will burn everyone down there if they dare hurt her." I Snarled, Vernon growled in my head, I just don't get him, for the past weeks he had told me to look for Iris, go to her but I didn't want to face her, I didn't know her to look at her after what happened between us and sending her out, I thought it was the best, I didn't mean to stay away for her for too long. "You should take care of things over here when I am gone." I grabbed the door only to see Celina, coming into my office, although I haven't rejected her yet, of cause I am going to reject her, I didn't announce that she is my Luna.
"Alpha Rupert, we need to talk."
"I am busy, whatever complaint you have, you should tell my beta and he will let me know."
"It's personal, not about the pack."
"Then it could wait, it's not important." She pulled my hand.
"I am your Luna and you should know that everything about me is important to you." I tittered pulling my hand from her.
"Stop calling yourself my Luna, I didn't declare you that." I walked out of the room, she run after me, I was taking the stairs two at a time, I don't know how much pain those bastards are suggesting Iris to.
"Ouch, Rupert." I heard Celina scream, but I didn't turn to look at her. I grabbed my keys, and speed off to Goldfang pack, it's unlike me to want to invade a pack without preparing in advance and getting a backup plan, all that in my head was for me to get there fast, and Vernon's restlessness knows no limits, he kept picturing things that alpha Damien must have been doing to Iris.
I decided to mindlink her but I mind link is blocked. "Oh Iris, do you have to be stubborn to block me from reaching you?"
"Why wouldn't she block you? You were been an asshole."
"Can you stop Vernon, you don't want us to get into trouble with the goddess again if she founds out that we are doing something bad again?"
"You would have thought of that before you bury yourself inside her?"
"Oh really now, you are going to condemn me for what we both enjoyed?" I scoffed.
"Oh please, you didn't make me have my moment," Vernon growled at me.
I pay no attention to him. "Iris, where are you? Please reply if you get my message, I am on my way to Goldfang pack."
I drop a message for her even though I know her mind link is blocked. As we get closer to the pack we could hear loud music.
"It's like they are having a party." Vernon's voice came up.
"What could they be celebrating?"
"I don't know, but we should get to Iris fast, I missed her scent, I want to inhale that sweet scent of her, will you let us taste her lips when we found her?
"Vernon, why do you keep asking for things that are not possible, you should know, we have a mate, and in a fortnight, we will be claiming her completely and declaring her our mate," I said with gritted teeth and my grip firm on the steering wheel.
"Never, she is not going to be our Luna, you should just reject her already, I am sure the goddess will understand us, she rejected us first and she slept with your brother Russell, which alpha will want to declare, a she-wolf that has slept with his brother the next Luna? Just reject her already and the moon goddess might bless us with another mate, hopefully, Iris will be our mate."
"Oh Vernon, you are going crazy, what if Iris isn't our fated mate?"
"Then we could choose her as our chosen mate." I almost get choked when Vernon made that suggestion that seem absurd but I kind of like the idea that my one true mate will be Iris or even our chosen mate.
I pack my car a bit far from the pack boundaries as I head towards the secret passage, I was only having a dagger, that was hidden in my booth and belt, so no one will think that I am there for a battle of cause I am here for battle, if Damien as much as hurt Iris's hair, I will make him lifeless and face the council.
"Alpha Rupert." Someone called me, causing me to turn, I wondered who would have known me there, I haven't revealed my face to other pack members since the moon goddess gave me back my face, and I was thinking of doing that after I pick my Luna. I can't face to face with a man, he had a sword in his hand.
