Iris's POV.
"Go to bed, stop thinking of Rupert, I just told you other alpha and here you are bringing Rupert up."
"Don't you want him anymore..."
"Iris, go to bed." Sally interrupted me, I know her, she too is excited to meet Rupert's wolf, but she is only acting less interested in the issue. The next morning for some unknown reason, I was desperate to look super hot.
"Come on Iris, we are getting late, let's leave already."
"Aren't you the one that said we should look hot for other Alpha?".
I tied my hair in Ponytail. "I don't think so, why do I feel that you are looking hot for Rupert?"
"Is Rupert coming?" I asked Sally, but she kept quiet. "Go on and tell me?"
"Fine, Vernon said he is coming, so are you excited?" I didn't reply I take off my gown, which I was wearing before, I didn't bother to ask when did she and Vernon become close, then I call for Susan, she is now my maid. "Iris, what are you doing?" I didn't replied my wolf.
"Susan, can you help me fix, a super hot wear, that could make me super attractive?" Susan looks at me. "Yes, can you?"
"Are you going somewhere important?" She roams her eyes over the room that has so many clothes that I have dumped on the bed while searching for nice wear.
"I am meeting the council for the hearing, so it's only right that I wear something nice." Susan nodded and rush out when she notice my tone is a bit high.
"Iris, what was that for? You just yelled at the maid."
"Fine, I am sorry, maybe, I overreacted." Sally rolled her eyes. When Susan return with an amazing gown, she help me fit in it and I also apologize to her but she didn't take it personally.
"How do I look?" I asked Susan.
"You look perfect and beautiful." I smiled at Susan's compliment, taking one last glance at the mirror, I head out, I know I was late but I needed to take my time.
Everyone was sitting at the hearing already, I run my eyes through the court, but I couldn't find Rupert my face darken, he was the one, I dress up for not for any other alpha.
"We will now begin the trial." An alpha from another pack, I don't know the pack he is from nor his name but he was handsome, he is the one reading out the case. "Hilary Bolton from Goldfang pack, step out."
The alpha announced, and Hilary, step out, she is in a wheelchair, although she is looking healthy and I am sure, she could move with her legs but her left eye is already damaged and as Drake said, she might not use her eyes again.
"Hilary, you are being charged with conspiracy and treason and also girls trafficking."
"That wasn't me, that was all the doing of Damien, he is dead...?"
"But that wasn't what the record of the pack carries and those surveillance were all stating that you are the Mastermind and Damien was just your puppet." Drake counters her.
"What do you mean?" She turned and look at Drake with anger, who step out to play the record of Damien and Hilary's conversation, which carries their argument over not wanting to have the brothel run under the pack and she was the one who sold me to that stupid Alpha David and the increase of taxes was all her doing.
"Dammit!" She curses when all the records show that she was the Mastermind over everything that happened in the pack.
"I propose the banishment of Hilary and her unborn pup from the community to live as a rogue for the rest of her life. Those in favor? When the alpha said it, I could see many hands, I turned and that was when my eyes got to Rupert, he had been there ever since, but I didn't notice it, I blushed seeing that his eyes were on me, he put his hand up as well.
"Iris, you should focus, you are staring at him too much."
I lower my gaze when I couldn't stop smiling and looking at him. Sally is one hell of trouble, my hand goes up, and Hilary rushes to me. "Iris no, please, I am so sorry, I could do better, I could turn a new life, I could right all my wrong, please don't do this to me. You could have the pack."
I look into her eye, the one not damaged but her wolf couldn't play along with the act, her wolf was riling, she was mad and ready to shoot out to consume me, and her wolf was cursing my wolf.
"Fuck you bitch."
Sally glared at her. "Fuck you too bitch."
Sally yelled at her wolf now I got the picture, she is an unrepentant soul.
"Take her away," Rupert said, they grabbed her and dragged her out.
"No, you can't do this to me, I beg you don't do this to me and my pup, we can't go rogue not now that I am pregnant. Iris no.."
She screamed till her voice fade away and Alpha David was found and given two weeks to stop his illegal brothel, it was more like all my enemies have been punished fairly.
After the case, I stood out waiting for Rupert, he is taking too long inside and I was about to mind link him when a young man walked towards me, giving me that sweet smile.
"Hi, I am Alpha Donald from the shadow moon pack." I stretch out my hand and take his hand into mine.
"Hello, I am Iris Bill."
"Whoa, so you are the new alpha of the gold fang pack?" I smiled at his words, giving him a nod. "I have heard a lot about you."
"Hope they are good things?"
"Of cause, the she-wolf that fought like a male wolf." I tittered at his words. "I will love to visit sometime and see more of that sweet laughter, that is if your mate wouldn't mind."
"Mate, I do not have a mate yet."
"Really? You don't have a mate?" He asked with all interest.
"Why would I lie to you, I don't have one, fine the late alpha was my mate but he rejected me the very day, he was supposed to claim me."
"Oh mine, it must be really..."
"It's in the past now, I have moved on." I stop him, my heart is far from Damien, the very moment I met Rupert.
"Does your move on, also involve your plans of entertaining suitors?" I parted my lips to say something when Sally became restless in my head, the next thing, she twist in my head, causing me to turn towards the direction she wanted me to turn and I could see the mad Rupert standing at the entrance to the court, is eyes are glaring at me if eyes could kill then I and alpha Donald would have been a dead fellow.
"Are you alright?" Donald asked but I wasn't paying attention to him, I tug my bag, to avoid making my shaking hand obvious to Alpha Donald. "Do you know alpha, Rupert?" His voice comes up again. "Tell me, is he interested in you? If he is, you should let me know, I don't want to get involved with any woman that Rupert is interested in, so tell me, is he interested in you?"
I turned my gaze from Rupert and face him back, with my eyes all watery.
