The last pure she-wolf Chapter 4

I threw my clothes in the basket and went into the box, turning on the shower, feeling the water coming into contact with my body. The hot water relaxed my tight muscles, and I could breathe deeply. I took the shampoo and put a good amount in my hand and passed it on my hair, soaping them. Leaves the bathroom with a towel around the body. I wore a warm suit because of the cold morning.

I took a brush and went back to the guest room, finding Rebecca passing a mixture of herbs on the fox’s wounds.

— How is she? — I asked, combing my hair, which was still a spider web, according to Aiden.

I made her swallow some ginger tea with elder flower and mint to lower her temperature. I’m running these herbs through your wounds to heal faster. She’s taking too long to heal, I suppose it’s some kind of poison. Explained Becca, her face serious and cold.

— Is she going to be okay? — I asked, putting the brush on the dresser.

I couldn’t help all that worry. It was my Alpha instincts, inevitable.

— I’m doing everything in my power to help her. — Assured Becca, putting the unruly strands of her hair in place.

The door was opened and Aiden came in, stopping beside me and staring at Kittsune passed out on the bed. Rebecca had put a gray sheet over her, covering her nakedness.

— I left the coffee of you on the table. — Said Melissa, and I felt my stomach growl with the mention of human food.

Thank you, Melissa. I thanked you, coming down the stairs and going to the kitchen.

Werewolves have a huge hunger. We ate a lot to satisfy ourselves. My werewolf loved hunting animals, and I loved stuffed waffles. We entered the kitchen and saw the table ready and full. Peter was at the end of the table, with a cup of coffee in his hand and a newspaper in the other.

— Have I told you how much I love Melissa? — I asked Aiden, clapping my hands and sitting at the table.

I believe you love your food more. I told my brother and he shrugged.

I heard the door open, I recognized the wolf’s scent quickly. I heard his voice speak to me:

— Finally, the little princess Labonair decided to return home.

I raised my head with a slight provocative smile opening in the corner of my lips. I blew a streak of brown hair that fell on my eyes and faced Dylan, the bastard smiled mockingly at me.

— Now, don’t tell me you missed me? — I asked sarcastically, and Dylan rolled his clear eyes, sitting in the chair next to Aiden.

— How did you find it? Stuck in the mud like a wild animal?

Aiden choked on his coffee.

— Almost that.

I narrowed my eyes towards her, but my brother was already devouring her pancake again.

I think I’d love to get you stuck in the mud, asshole. I scolded Peter and Melissa’s son, who just smiled at me with his mouth full of bread.

I leaned on the chair, taking the honey and pouring an exaggerated amount on the waffles on my plate, pouring a chocolate syrup then taking a piece to my mouth, sighing.

I love it. I said blunt.

— By the Moon! Chew this before. — Said Dylan in front of me, grimacing. — Not in the forest anymore to act like a wild animal, baby.

I swallowed the food and rolled my eyes, lifting my middle finger to Dylan who let out a loud laugh but stopped suddenly, frowned and his eyes sparkled. I strained my spine with the sudden change in it.

— Why does the house smell different? — Asked him, with furrowed forehead. — Aiden, you smell like a fox.

— Murmured, Dylan didn’t have the Kitsunes as his favorite creatures. — Don’t tell me you’re jumping the fence? If Becca finds out, she’ll castrate you.

My brother just shot him with his eyes, but he kept chewing his sweet bread.

— They destroyed the village of Kitsunes. — I spoke to him, Dylan looked at me with curiosity.

— Who would do that? Hunters? — Asked in a confused tone, looking for an answer. I shrugged as I ate the waffles in front of me.

— We don’t know. Aiden answered, after swallowing the dough.

Dylan snapped his tongue and stared at the plate in front of him.

— Did they kill everyone? — His voice sounded low.

— We found a live one, but she’s badly injured. Becca’s helping her with Melissa in the guest room.

Dylan’s eyes shone for the orange that I knew very well. He blinked a few times and twisted his nose, his nostrils inflated by his flustered breath.

— Did you bring a fox to our house? — Practically growled in my direction, left the cutlery on the plate and stared at it.

I said she’s hurt and needs a healer.

Dylan snorted through his nose.

— Rebecca is not the only healer in the village. — Replied, and I messaged my temples.

— Dylan, for the Moon! Don’t let your hatred for that damn Kitsune influence your mind, not everyone is like her.

By his angry look, he had not liked that I meddled in that matter, but looked away and was quiet.

"He still hasn’t forgiven her for what she did to him."

And how could I? After all she did, if she hadn’t run away, I’d rip her throat out.

"It would have been wonderful to kill her for what she did to Dylan."

I finished eating my waffles and pinched some fruit on the table, and got up from the chair.

— Where are you going? —  Aiden’s voice sounded loud from the kitchen.

— Walk through the village, can’t you see?

— I’ll go with you. — Said he's jumping out of the kitchen, twisted his nose.

— I don’t remember calling him to accompany me. — I replied, and he made a face.

— Always so sweet, dear sister. — Joked him coming to me and ran his arm over my shoulders. — I will not let you walk alone, after the attack on the village of the Kitsunes. — He said to my ear, making me tense with his words.

My wolf growled in my mind.

As my brother and I walked through the village, prying eyes were directed at us. I kept silent and Aiden did the same until we entered the forest.

— You’re suspicious, aren’t you? — I asked him, sitting at the root of a tree. — What did you find us?

— I hope not. — Sat next to me.

— I’d hate to run away again. — I confessed in a deep breath, laying my head on his shoulder.

— So did I, my sister. — He said softly. — I wish our lives weren’t so complicated that way.

Aiden held the necklace wrapped around his neck and I looked at mine, just like his. It was the last gift we got from our parents before we were forced to flee. The pendant on the necklace was the head of a howling wolf.
