In her room, Resti curled up, her eyes refusing to close even though it was already one o'clock in the morning. She hadn't felt sleepy at all, and all she could think about was Weeby.
Resti let out a small hiss, remembering the incident this afternoon when Weeby lifted her test pack into the air. She was really upset and scared at the same time.
"That's why when I looked for the test pack, it was gone, apparently Weeby took it." For the second time, Resti let out her breath in a huff, then her hand moved to hold her forehead, which suddenly felt dizzy.
"Does that mean Weeby knew when I talked to Gama?" Resti gasped for a moment, and yes, Weeby had definitely heard her. The test pack was already one of the strongest pieces of evidence.
What about tomorrow? Resti was suddenly upset, really, her brain could not think of ideas when she needed them so badly.
Resti was afraid that Marcell would suddenly ask for a breakup when Weeby showed him the test pack at an inopportune moment.
Resti was still awake, her sleepiness had started to attack her, but she didn't care. She had been biting her pillow, and fears were now entering her body.
"Weeby, watch out, I'll get back at you!"
Then, time moved so fast that the day had changed. And now Resti was walking to her class.
She didn't know what kind of feeling was in her body, but she felt an unpleasant aura, and she couldn't control her heart's leaps and bounds. When her feet landed in front of her classroom door, Resti became even more agitated and stayed there for a few minutes.
After closing her eyes and trying to regain her strength, Resti ventured inside. Resti wouldn't have felt this way if Weeby hadn't done something like that.
Honestly, Weeby's behavior scared Resti so much that she fell asleep at half past three in the morning just thinking about it. Of course, until this moment, Resti felt tired, her body seemed to crumble, her muscles tightened, and not only that, she was now also starting to feel sleepy.
Resti couldn't help but sound shocked at the situation that was creeping up on her, her steps immediately faltered and stopped in place, her eyes widening as she caught Weeby walking over from Marcell's bench.
She swallowed hard, and suddenly something crawled in her chest as her eyes collided with Weeby's, Resti felt even more annoyed, while Weeby seemed to be getting closer to her.
A pair of shoes stopped right in front of Resti's shoes, and that meant Weeby was already standing in front of the girl. Weeby stared at her silently, lifting the corners of her lips upward to reveal a lopsided smile that made Resti swallow her saliva again.
After only ten seconds of this, after giving her that warning look, Weeby took off, passed Resti unceremoniously, and made her way to her seat.
Resti was sure that Weeby had told Marcell everything about her pregnancy. There were two reasons why Resti thought that. Firstly, Weeby had said that she would tell Marcell all about it, and lastly, Weeby would never talk to Marcell about such an unimportant matter, it would be impossible for Weeby to do such a thing while Weeby herself was very hostile towards Marcell, which is why Resti thought that Weeby had told Marcell her biggest secret.
The test pack was already strong enough evidence, and Resti regretted at the time why she threw it away. In reality, regret comes last.
For two minutes, Resti daydreamed to herself, not realizing that she was still standing. After realizing this and gathering the rest of her life, Resti immediately continued her footsteps towards her seat.
Resti couldn't even look at Marcell, she thought it was too scary, Resti also just realized that her body was shaking and her goosebumps were still bristling.
The distance between Resti and the bench she was sitting on was eroding, now it was getting bigger and bigger, and Resti's feelings were still uncontrollable, even worse now. She didn't know what she would say when Marcell asked her about it, but she didn't have an answer, not even an excuse.
Resti didn't sit down immediately after getting there, she stood for a moment, closed her eyes for a while, and neutralized her racing heartbeat and breathing. Once she had enough, she moved her chair back and sat down on the bench with an exaggerated sense of dread.
When she noticed Marcell's uncharacteristic attitude, Resti had already made up her mind that Weeby had revealed her secret to Marcell. Usually, when Resti came and sat on his lap, the boy would immediately get nasty and ask her a lot of questions.
It felt awkward to accept this situation. With the courage she had gathered, Resti tried to turn her face to the side. She saw Marcell's flat face, his gaze directed to the front of the class, even though there were no objects to spoil the eyes.
Marcell already looks very creepy, his firm body, his sharp eyes, and his two thick eyebrows that are almost fused together—all of that is already one of the solid proofs that Marcell's appearance makes Resti swallow her saliva with difficulty.
Awkwardness had dominated Resti's situation. Wanting to raise her voice to greet the boy beside her was also very difficult, her tongue kept missing and her voice was only held in her throat.
Resti's breathing sounded irregular, even though it was still early in the morning and she hadn't done any exercise. Just because of Marcell's sudden change in attitude, Resti's heart felt like it had been hit with a hammer.
A moment later, Resti immediately threw her face in any direction when Marcell suddenly looked at her. Yes, Resti was caught looking at the boy's face. Resti hopes Marcell doesn't see the change in her face, which is suddenly as red as a tomato.
Resti immediately turned her head to look at Marcell when the boy's stern voice echoed, piercing her sense of hearing.
"Resti, I want to talk to you, it's important."
Hearing that, Resti swallowed fearfully, the tail of her eyes still pointed at Marcell, Marcell's eyeballs looked very sharp; there was no doubt if Resti was scared to death, as if what Marcell was about to say was very bad for her.
"What do you want to ask?" Resti said timidly, half stammering—no wonder she was acting like that.
Marcell smiles sadly, publishing the corners of his lips that are pulled upwards, "I want to discuss the problem we had at the cafe yesterday."
As Resti suspects, this conversation will inevitably lead to her undisclosed pregnancy that no one knows about, including her parents, except for Weeby, who already has the proof.
Did Marcell see me vomit at the café yesterday?
Did he also suspect all this?
What kind of stupid question was this? It was clear that Marcell already knew everything because Weeby had shown Marcell the test pack. In the next second, Resti twisted her thin lips, continuing to bite her lower lip.
Her eyes were unable to look at Marcell anymore, there was only one reason why she didn't want to do that, and that was because Resti was too afraid to look into the boy's sharp eyes. As if from there, Marcell was interrogating her.
"I'm sorry, Marcell," Resti sobbed, a crystal clear liquid having just escaped from her eyes. Although Resti had been holding back desperately so as not to cry, in fact she could not, the tears were too much to accumulate in her eyes.
Resti already knew that Marcell would be furious with her, but there was no other way. Resti had given up, letting everything go according to God's plan. Resti had given up, her self-esteem was no longer there because her pregnancy status was known to others, and surely shortly after that, this news spread widely throughout the school.
"Resti, why are you crying? Why do you have to apologize to me at all?"
Resti was stunned, wiped her tears, and then ventured to look at Marcell, Resti could see three lines printed on Marcell's forehead, and that was a sign that the boy was confused. Resti still tried to hold back her tears, but the sobs that escaped her thin lips could no longer be prevented.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, Marcell."
Resti sobbed again, but her hand deftly reached out and immediately wiped her already wet cheeks.
"Do I have a problem with you?" Marcell asked flatly, the tails of his eyes flashing an aura of worry and sadness mixed together. His right hand came up and tapped Resti on the shoulder a few times.
There was another pause between them, Resti chose not to answer immediately, her heart was in turmoil and resentment because she had to accept a truly bitter reality. However, a second later, Resti was stunned by Marcell's question. Shouldn't he be angry with her? Why did he even ask?
Feeling that Marcell's words sounded ambiguous, the girl then fixed her face, tidied up her slightly messy hair, and turned her face to look at Marcell.
"Weeby, what did you say to Cell?" asked Resti while holding back her embarrassment. As soon as she said that, she looked away, felt scared, and cursed her mouth for talking like that.
Marcell smiled a little, his toothy grin visible in Resti's irises. As soon as the strange and awkward feeling strikes her again, Resti immediately frowns.
"Are you jealous of Weeby?" Marcell chuckled and patted Resti's cheek, not two seconds later he said, "Oh, I know, that's why you're crying because Weeby just got back from my bench, isn't that right?" Marcell's face lit up with enthusiasm.
"Sorry?" For a moment, Resti was choked up, a look of confusion on her face. Once again, she remembered what Marcell had just said. Although her heart was still churning inside, Resti's anxiety was slightly alleviated.
Was it true that Weeby hadn't told Marcell everything? If so, what did Resti see earlier, and why did Weeby go to Marcell's seat? Aish, Resti sighed angrily, these tears were too precious to waste, she had misunderstood the situation.
It was the fear that her big secret would be revealed that made Resti think like that. Now, she felt a bit reassured, at least Weeby hadn't done the deed yet.
So, why did she see such a scary look on Marcell's face? Again and again, Resti hit her head repeatedly, this must be because her mind was not conducive.
It's okay if Marcell thinks that the reason why Resti was crying was because of jealousy, Resti just nods her head, not wanting to complicate things.
"What did you have to do with Weeby?" Resti's words still sounded weak and cautious, but she had completely stopped sobbing and shedding tears.
"I borrowed money from her, so I wanted to return it," Marcell answered quickly.
"What for?"
"What does that mean?"
Resti sighed, "What's the money for, why borrow it from Weeby? Why don't you just borrow it from me? I can even give it to you."
"I don't want to bother you, Res," Marcell replied, running his hand over the top of Resti's head.
"Then you'll be a nuisance to Weeby too," Resti snorted. Her tone was unfriendly, and she swatted Marcell's hand away sarcastically.
"I'm used to that, she used to bother me a lot, asking to copy assignments, borrowing pens, everything." Marcell said, looking back at those days, when Weeby was still sitting on the same bench as him.
"But what do you want to borrow money for? I think your parents are well off," Resti asked again, continuing to barrage questions.
"I can't tell you."
"Why?"
"Well, it's a secret, you don't have to know everything about me, do you?" Marcell said in the end and was met with a sigh and a roll of annoyed eyeballs from Resti. "Resti, don't be angry, I'm just joking, this is the money from the other day, you paid for it at the cafe, I'll pay for it now."
