“She needs to avoid stress. It will be a big help for her. She fainted because she skipped her meals, and it looked like she always did that. I want to advise that she should not skip meals because the baby needs some nutrients.” Brea said before she started taking down some of the vitamins that Jane needed. She glimpsed at Blossom before she hardly sighed.
“Blossom, I want to ask if this woman is Leo's relative. I think I saw her with Leo when we were studying.” Brea added. She glanced at Jane, who was still lying on the hospital bed.
Blossom was stunned. She didn't know about it because all she thought about was getting the best secretary that she could trust. She shut and opened her eyes several times when she felt that Jane was related to Leo. Jane was like Leo; she was cold and powerful and sometimes intimidated.
Sometimes she was shocked whenever she saw Leo to her, and she thought that she had a hallucination.
“I don't know. She's my secretary, and she's too smart.” Blossom replied.
“Oh, I do think that you should do an investigation about her. I know you can trust her because you told me she's working for you in your company, but you need to know her more. Trust can be built if you know someone deeper.” Brea suggested. She sighed deeply before she gave Blossom the prescription.
“She can still work, but she needed some rest, too. Did you see that she had traits of the Fontaine? Someone told me that the Fontaine family has one lady in their family. This family decided to be independent of their family's power.” Brea took the stethoscope and checked Jane once again. Her eyes were staring at Jane, which made Blossom nod.
Blossom didn't know that there was a lady in the Fontaine family. She thought it was only men because they were the ones who went to her wedding. But, if the lady decided to go out to her family's name, then maybe, Jane was one of them.
Jane was too independent, so she trusted her too much. She was sure that she couldn't bribe by her enemies. If Leo put Jane inside her company, why? Does Leo didn't have to trust her to handle the company, or maybe, Leo wants her to be safe?
Blossom recalled that Leo permitted Jane to say something about the accident, but Jane made her know about it because it was her right to know. Jane had a lot of rules in her mind, and she was the only one who could disobey Leo.
“I will ask her about this.” Blossom wasn't hurt because she knew Jane was too concerned about her. She remembered that Jane had gone to the bar with her and helped her.
“If you wanted to know everything in her mouth. It would help if you did your acting well. Maybe, this lady didn't want someone to know about her pregnancy.” Brea smirked and took off the stethoscope.
If Blossom wanted Jane to admit that she was related to Leo, she should make her panic. It looked like Jane didn't even know that she was pregnant, so she should grab the opportunity to make Jane talk about it.
“Okay, I already know what you're trying to say. You don't need to worry about me. Did you visit her?” Blossom took her phone and scrolled through her social media. She could see that Erin was still stressed about being a mistress even though she was not.
“I contacted her, but I'm using a different phone because I don't want them to be suspicious about her. You don't need to worry about her because I know that she won't let someone bully her once again.”
“I'm not worried about her, okay? I want to meet her, but I don't want them to see us.”
“Yeah, we should prevent them by seeing us talking. Oh, I will take care of this. I will put her in the room. I would take care of her charts, but I will ask someone to help us do some fake charts if Leo tries to dig into her charts.”
“Why did you think that Leo would investigate her?”
“She's the only lady of the Fontaine family, and unwanted pregnancy is a taboo in their family. This lady should tell them if she wants it.”
“Okay, I get it. Thank you, Brea, for helping me once again. I can't believe that you're helping me repeatedly.”
“Blossom, you are my friend. I know how good you are, and I want you to see that your enemy can put someone inside your company. You should give importance to this lady because I know she is on your side.”
Blossom chuckled before she mumbled, “You are a doctor, but you're acting like a fortune teller. Okay, what's my future today?”
Brea frowned and gave Blossom a murderous glare. “Shut up! I will leave now because I don't want them to think what I'm doing here.”
Blossom laughed so loudly when Brea left. After a minute, two men came and helped to bring Jane to a different room. Blossom watched Jane, but she was surprised when her phone rang. It was Leo.
Blossom answered the phone call immediately. “Hello! Baby, why did you call me? I thought you were too busy in your company.”
Blossom tried to be more natural because she didn't want Leo to think she was hiding something. She knew how brilliant Leo was, and he could feel she was trying to hide some secrets from him.
“I went to your company, and nobody's there. I didn't even see your secretary here. I want to invite you for lunch.” Leo coldly replied. Blossom gulped, she was sure that Leo knew that Jane was brought to the hospital, but he didn't know about her condition.
If she said to Leo that she wasn't in the hospital, Leo would be more suspicious of her.
“Oh, I bring my secretary here to the hospital. She fainted because she skipped meals and was fatigued. I'm so guilty because she is the one who did my work in my company.” Blossom bit her lips; she made sure her tone was too sad for what happened to Jane.
Leo didn't reply after hearing it. But Blossom was sure that she heard how Leo coughed, which made Blossom smile.
“Are you blaming yourself because of what happened to her? How is she?” Leo tried to hide his worry about his cousin, but Blossom knew their secret, so she could distinguish that Leo was worried about Jane.
“She is fine, I think, but the doctor told me that she should rest. I felt guilty because Jane was overworked because of me.” Blossom acted like she was crying and emotional, which made Leo stunned.
“Stop blaming yourself. It's part of her work, and she volunteered to do everything.” Leo tried his best to comfort her. Blossom stared at Jane, and she was Jane was about to wake up.
“Baby, I needed to end this call. Jane is waking up!” Blossom exclaimed; she didn't wait for Leo's response and ended the call. Blossom wanted to laugh, but when she saw Jane was awake, she stopped.
“Jane! Are you alright?” Blossom went closer to Jane, which made Jane was shocked when she saw that she was in the hospital.
“Oh, I hate the hospital.” Jane felt afraid, but when she saw Blossom watching her, she felt relief. “Ms. Blossom, I want to get out of here. I don't want to stay in the hospital.”
Blossom was confused, but she held Jane's hand. “We can't leave her because you didn't like it. You should think about your baby. You're pregnant.”
Jane blinked several times, and her eyes started to moist, which made Blossom try to hide her smile even more. Jane gulped, and her eyes began to shake.
“Ms. Blossom, this is not a funny joke.” Jane tried her best not to stammer but failed when tears fell down her cheeks.
“I'm not bluffing here. Do you want me to call the doctor so she's the one who will tell you? I was about to say this to Leo so he could search for your family, but you woke up.” Blossom acted like she was sighing and massaged her temple. Seeing Jane's reaction made her think about what Brea had told her. It looked like Brea was correct about Jane all along.
“Please, don't tell this to your husband. I don't want him to know about this.” Jane started sobbing, and she covered her hands on her face to prevent Blossom from witnessing her having a mental breakdown.
Leo was staring at his phone; he couldn't believe Blossom had ended the call without hearing his sweet words. He gripped the phone in annoyance; he trusted Blossom, and seeing Jane wasn't in the company made him think that Blossom was telling him the truth.
He sighed and dialed someone who was going to investigate what had happened to his cousin. He wanted to make sure that Jane was alright because he was confident that his family would be scolded him for being too ruthless to Jane.
“Hello, Jane got rushed to the hospital; I want to know the details about her. And which hospital is she rush today? I need the details ASAP.” Leo icy ordered the man that he called. He glanced once again at Jane's desk before he decided to leave the company. Leo walked going to the elevator; he waited for the elevator to open while he was sending some emails to his client.
When the elevator opened, he saw Wade had a take-out bag in his hands, which made Leo scowl.
“What are you doing here?” Leo tried to be more casual. He glimpsed at the takeout bag that Wade was holding.
Wade looked away and tried to hide his embarrassment. “I will give this to Jane because she always skips meals because of me. You know that I'm too busy in my company, but I want to eat with her always.”
Leo's face darkened. He couldn't believe that it was confirmed that his cousin was skipping meals because of his asshole friend. “She is not here. She is in the hospital because she fainted. The doctor told her she was overtired and always skipped meals.”
Wade's mouth hung open, and worriedness flashed on his handsome face. He was sure that Jane wasn't okay when she left their house, so he brought her some food.
“W-Wait, which hospital? There are a lot of hospitals here!” Wade started to panic; all he thought was that he was scared to lose Jane.
“Calm yourself. She's fine. You're overreacting.” Leo was irritated when he saw how Wade reacted. Blossom told him that Jane was fine, and Wade was acting that Jane would be dead within a minute.
“You can't understand me because you know that I liked her!” Wade defended himself for the humiliation that he brought himself.
Leo's phone vibrated, and he finally got the details of the hospital where Jane was rushed to. He entered the elevator and brought bring Wade with him into the hospital.
Blossom pursed her lips. She was watching Jane crying. “You should stop crying. I know that Leo will be here now.”
Jane stopped and sniffed. Her eyes were bloodshot, and her nose was reddened. She nodded because she was sure Leo had investigated where she was now.
“Jane, I want to know why you didn't want me to tell this, Leo. I don't understand because Leo would not do anything to harm you. He's my husband, and he didn't even know you personally.” Blossom muttered.
Jane swallowed and looked away from Blossom. She thought Blossom would be mad at her if she told her the truth. But, if she didn't admit to Blossom about her connections to Leo, she was sure that Blossom would be angry if she found out about other people.
Jane was scared that Leo would force Wade to marry her. She wanted to know that Wade loved her, so he wanted to marry her, not because of the baby.
Jane's lips trembled. “I'm Leo's cousin. I'm the young lady Jane Fontaine.” She confessed.
