Chapter 20
***LARISSA***
I was pacing around in my room and thinking of how I was going to escape this night when I heard a knock on the door of my room.
I turned around to look at the door and I gulped nervously.
"Come in," I said. The doors opened and one of the ladies from earlier walked in.
"The General requests to see you for Dinner," she said and I nodded. I followed her out of the room and I walked to the Dining room.
The General was sitting at the table where he was earlier this morning. He looked up as he noticed me and I forced a smile, looking away as I walked to the table.
I could feel his eyes on me as I pretended to be so interested in the dishes on the table.
"Tell me," he said and I looked up at him, "what was on your mind when you ran away from your pack," he asked.
I didn't know how to respond to that and my lips moved trying to say words, but I couldn't.
"I'm asking what you thought you were going to do next after running away? What was your next plan?" He asked to clarify himself.
"Ummmm, I wasn't exactly thinking," I replied.
"I just wanted to get away from all the abuse," I added and he nodded.
"But you like the idea of a pack right? And you would have lived a happy life as a Pack wolf if it wasn't for that right?" He asked me and I dropped the spoon I was holding on the plate.
There was a small smile on his face that made him look a bit creepy.
I had no idea what he was driving out but I had to say the right words.
"I couldn't have possibly known, never got the chance to," I replied with a polite smile.
"You abhor Rogues don't you?" He asked and I gulped nervously.
What was he doing? I planned to leave tonight so I have to be careful and play along for as long as I can.
"Well, since birth, I've been taught that Rogues are rebellious and go against the natural standards and laws for Lycanthropes," I said and paused, grabbing a glass of water and taking a sip.
"But I'm here among the Rogues now. I guess I'll have to forget everything I've been taught and learned, and see for myself, won't I?" I added, maintaining a polite smile on my face to hide the anxiety and nervousness I felt.
Did I say it right?
"Certainly," he replied with a satisfied smile and I let out the breath I had been holding.
He picked up a napkin and wiped his mouth before standing up.
"I have some things to attend to, I'll see you later," he said and walked out of the dining room.
I sighed heavily as he left and leaned into the chair I sat in.
That went well.
I guess.
I looked out the windows. It was already getting dark and I would need to be out of there as fast as I can. I sat up and grabbed my cutlery. I didn't eat well during breakfast.
I need to eat well so I'll have enough strength to run away until I can find another pack that'll accept me.
***
PRESENTLY.
I sighed as I stood in front of the dressing mirror, my weight focusing on my hand resting on the dressing table. Logan had assigned a room to me after we made an agreement.
I was going to treat his father then I would be able to leave here.
I tied my hair into a ponytail and used a black hair bungee to hold it in place.
I stood up straight and looked at my reflection with confidence. I'm no longer the old Larissa they knew before and I had to show them that.
I applied my lipstick and grabbed my handbag before walking out of the room. As I locked the door, I checked my handbag for my phone, but I couldn't find it.
It was there when I was abducted at my house. Just as I thought about where it could be, I saw Logan walk down from across the hallway.
I closed my handbag and held it properly, waiting for him to get here.
"You're up early, that's nice, I hope you had a great night's rest," he said with a wide smile on his face.
I rolled my eyes, completely ignoring how nice he was acting, "I checked for my phone in my bag now and I can't find it. You do not happen to know anything about that, do you?" I asked, following him down the hallway as I guessed he was leading us to see his dad.
"Yes, I took it from your bag?" He said and I stopped walking, sighing.
"Gotta be careful and make sure you don't reach out to anyone," he added and I scoffed.
"Who am I going to reach out to?" I asked, "Will my HUMAN friends come to rescue me from Werewolves?"
The look on his face after I said that showed he realized he didn't think it through.
"Give it back, I'm going to need it for research. How else will I treat your dad?"
"It's not with me now, but I'll get it to you later," he said and we continued walking.
"Do you want to tell me what happened to him?" I asked.
"I only know he's sick, I don't know what sickness he has. Leprosy? Stroke? Vir-"
"No, no. He fell down and broke his head. He's been in a coma ever since," Logan replied, interrupting me, and the thought of an Alpha wolf falling and breaking his head sounded off to me.
There was something else he wasn't telling me, but I shrugged it off, telling myself not to concern myself with it. I was just here to help him recover so I can get the hell out of here.
"Logan," I heard a familiar voice behind us and I stopped walking. I was beginning to wonder when I would see her evil face here.
I slowly turned around and saw Logan's mom walking towards us. She suddenly stopped walking as she saw me and her jaws literally dropped to the floor.
She seemed so shocked to see me.
"What- what is she doing here?"
