My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 21

Chapter 21

***LARISSA***

I walked back to my room after eating and I locked the door on the inside. It was already dark and late in the night so it was the perfect time for me to escape.

I looked at what I was wearing and shook my head. The dress was a bit heavy and would be uncomfortable and hard to run in.

I walked to the closet and pulled them open. I searched through the clothes hurriedly, looking for anything remotely comfortable. Everything here was so elegant and designed as if they were going to be worn to fancy events like balls or wedding ceremonies.

I was about to give up and stop looking when I found a dress hidden among all the big dresses surrounding it. I pulled it out and held it up to observe it.

It was a black straight dress with a silver belt on the waist. The neck was in the shape of a v and it went down the chest a bit too much. There were two long black gloves accompanying it.

It was perfect.

I dropped it on the bed and stretched my hands to my back to pull down the zip of the dress I was in.

I grunted as I struggled to reach the zip, I finally grabbed it with the tip of my fingers and I pulled it down a bit till my hands couldn't go further.

I forced the dress off me and kicked it, sending it across the room on the floor.

I slipped into the black dress quickly and after zipping it up, I went to look at myself in the mirror. The V-shaped neck of the dress went all the way down to my chest, exposing my cleavage.

Feeling slightly uncomfortable, I tried to pull it up, but it was of no use. The dress reached slightly above my knees which was okay.

I put on the gloves before walking to the window. I groaned, pushing up the big windows and I looked outside. I could see the gate of the territory far ahead from here.

It was heavily guarded so there was no way I could escape through there. I looked around, observing the fences that surrounded the entire place.

I found a place that was slightly lower than the others. I would be able to climb it and jump over it.

I looked down from the building where I stood. It was three floors down and there's no way I would survive a jump this far.

I walked back to the closet and looked in it, none of the dresses there could achieve what I wanted.

The fabrics were either too complicated or too thick. I stopped as I looked at my bed, getting an idea.

I hurried to it and grabbed the bed sheet, pulling it off the bed.

I began to rip the bedsheet from the top of the longer side down in strips that were not too wide, but not too thin. I ended up with 5 strips and quickly tied them up together in tight knots.

I went back to the window and tied one end of the long rope I made out of the fabric to the metal decoration around the edges of the window.

I tugged at it tightly to make sure it was tightly fit.

I let out a deep breath, summoning up the courage and telling myself it would be okay before climbing out of the window.

My legs were on the wall of the building as I stood in the air, hovering parallel to the ground several feet below.

I looked down and gulped nervously. I can do this.

PRESENTLY

Logan's mom was walking towards us down the hallway and she suddenly froze as she saw me, her jaws dropping to the floor.

Well, it looks like Logan didn't inform her of his plans to abduct me from the human world and force me to treat his dad.

I wonder what she would think about that. I smiled in mischief. The look of horror on her face was so refreshing to look at.

"Mom, I was gonna tell you," Logan said, trying to explain to his mother who looked like she had seen a ghost. Quite literally.

"Tell me what?" She asked and she looked as if she was going to explode with rage. The way she was, she could go into shock and something bad could happen to her.

It would certainly be fun and satisfying to watch, but unless it kills her, that would add to the number of people I have to look after before I'm able to leave.

"Don't tell me you brought her here because-"

"No, Mom," Logan said, quickly interrupting his mom. I raised an eyebrow, noticing that, but I shook it off. I didn't want to know what she was about to say.

"She's a doctor and I brought her here so she can help Dad," he explained, but that didn't seem to calm her down like he thought it would, she now seemed much more agitated.

"What?!" She exclaimed.

"There's no way I'm letting that traitor touch my husband with those filthy hands."

"Mom!" Logan suddenly bellowed, his voice booming throughout the building and reverberating on the walls, it felt as if they would crumble.

"We've tried a lot of methods to save Dad and I won't let your petty grievances for a crime she didn't commit stop me from trying the only other option we had left," he said to his mom who was still recovering from the shock of him shouting down at her.

"I don't want Dad to die, and neither do you," he said, this time, his voice sounding soft and calm. I  saw her chest rise and fall gently as she began to calm down.

She was going to agree after all. The same girl she maltreated, humiliated, and called names was the one who was going to save her husband's life.

"So please stay away from her, and let her do her job," he added. She glanced at me and I smirked.

Her hands were tied and there was nothing she could do. The tables had truly turned.

"Fine, do what you want," she said and looked at me bitterly.

I wiggled my fingers at her with a smirk and watched as she walked away.
