My Rejected Mate And Our Secret Triplets Chapter 31

Chapter 31

***ALVINA***

I looked up as Logan walked up to me, standing in front of the box I was confined in.

"Why did you do it?" He asked me. I stared at him, panting heavily. I glanced up at the podium where my dad and the rest of the elders sat. He nodded, trying to persuade me to say the truth.

"Just tell them who it was. You'll only get yourself killed if you continue to be stubborn," he had said this morning before the guards came to take me away to the Pack square.

There was no way I was going to betray Derek. I glanced at him sitting a few steps away from the elders and he looked so scared for me.

"Because I wanted to," I replied and swallowed. I would face whatever punishment they decided to give me.

Even if I told them it was Derek, both of us would still get punished. But if I was going down, I have to make sure that everyone knows Logan's secret.

"I was going to leave the past behind and move on, and I thought you'd do the same too," I said and Logan stared at me in confusion. He had no idea that I knew about him and Larissa. But I kept quiet all these while because it made it easier to be with Derek whenever he went off to be with that pathetic little scum.

"What??"

"You think I didn't notice how you were so madly obsessed with her over these past few months?" I asked and he still looked confused about what I was saying. Everyone in the pack fell silent as they listened to me. I had everyone's attention now.

"You were always disturbed and I knew it was because you were so desperate to find that traitor's daughter!" I yelled loudly and loud murmurs erupted around the Pack square, "I knew it. I knew all of it, and how you burned to see her again every day!"

Logan took a step back and looked around as he realized what I was accusing him of. He looked embarrassed and shocked at the same time that I knew about their secret affair.

"Before we became mates, I knew you were in love with that traitor's daughter, that scum of a thing!" I added and I saw him struggling to keep calm. I smiled wickedly knowing his hands were tied and he couldn't do anything to me or he would be confirming my accusations.

"I thought you were going to forget about her and we'd be happy together, so when you didn't, you don't expect me to forsake someone I loved too?" I asked, this time angry about how I felt like the second choice to him for so long. I had no choice but to go back to Derek who made me feel loved.

Logan walked back to the spot for the council members and I could see that the entire pack was shocked about this discovery. Given Larissa's reputation and how much her father's betrayal affected the pack, everyone would be so disappointed in him and he'll have a hard time regaining their respect.

My chest rose and fell as I panted heavily, waiting for the verdict of the council.

"She will be banished from the pack never to return," I heard Logan shout for everyone to hear.

I sat on the floor of my dark cell with my back resting on the wall as I waited for my already-decided fate. I had drained a lot of my energy struggling to get out of here and shouting, I was feeling so weak.

I looked up as I heard someone walk into the dungeon. I didn't expect anyone to come in here till the moon rises at night when I would be escorted to the pack border and sent away.

I saw my dad, Jakob sneak in and walk towards my cell.

"Dad," I ran forward and grabbed the bars of my cell.

"Dad, you can't let them do this to me," I said, with tears in my eyes.

"Ssssh!" He signaled to me to keep my voice down so no one would hear us and he looked over his shoulder.

"There's nothing I can do. You committed treason against the Alpha," he said and I could see the sadness in his eyes.

He grabbed my hands through the bars of the cell and squeezed them tightly.

"Once you are banished away from the border, you have to find a pack immediately. You have a friend at LakeMoon pack, you can go there," he said, his voice almost sounding like a whisper.

"There are Rogues lurking outside the border, they're going to kill me," I cried and he squeezed my hands again.

"You have to be strong, if you see Rogues, use the trees to hide yourself until you can keep moving," he said and let go of my hands. He looked over his shoulder again and reached into his pockets. He took out two short silver daggers and handed them to me.

"Hide this in your cloth, make sure nobody sees it," he said and I took the daggers from him, hiding them in my sleeve and my ankle.

He reached into his other pocket and took out a small flat bottle that contained a herb that was given to injured wolves so they could regain strength much faster.

"Take, drink this." He opened it and gave it to me. After drinking it, I handed him back the empty bottle and he hid it in his pocket.

"I have to go now," he said, but I held on to his hand, crying.

"Please don't leave me, I'm scared," I said, crying and I saw tears well up in his eyes.

"Try your best to get to a pack and find a way to contact me when you're settled. I promise you, I'm going to make sure you can come back to this pack," he said reassuringly, his voice breaking as he tried to hold back his tears.

"Hide the weapons. Make sure you don't run into Rogues," he said and slipped his hands out of mine before wiping his eyes with the heel of his palms and sneaking away.

I walked back into the cell and fell on the floor, sobbing. How did I get here?
