Chapter 73
OMNISCIENT POV
Diana stared at Dave, waiting for Daniel, their brother, to arrive.
It was 8pm and they were all supposed to be in bed but they’d recently been worried about something and they’d been unable to sleep.
“He’s here,” Dave said to his sister as he pointed at the direction of where Daniel was coming from.
“Hey guys!” Daniel whispered as he ran to his siblings.
“What took you so long?” Diana glared.
“The matron and patron were making rounds in my dorm.”
“Did you get into a fight again?” Dave asked, scrutinizing his brother’s appearance.
He looked disheveled and sweaty as if he’d been on another flight.
He wouldn’t have blamed him if he hadn’t been. Lately, the kids at school had been mean to them, calling them freaks because of how strong they were. Even the teachers had noticed especially during P.E how strong they were and how a little shove sent their other classmates flying.
“No! It wasn’t me this time,” Daniel protested.
“Whatever. We need to talk.”
Daina spoke up, causing her brothers to look over at her.
“About what?” Both boys asked.
“Sit,” Daina directed and both boys glanced at each other but nodded and did as their sisters told them to.
“Have you guys been feeling it?” Diana asked after a moment of silence, going straight to the point.
She’d been having these feelings that their mother was in danger, sometimes visions but mostly a strong feeling that something was happening to their mom.
She knew their mother was alive because she could feel her life force, sometimes even hear her voice in her head praying or speaking to her. It was always something about a moon. She didn’t understand it but she knew something was up.
“Feeling what?”
“The fact that mom’s in danger.” Diana said as if that should have been clear to her brother.
Both brothers were silent for a moment as they looked between each other.
“When you say feel, do you mean voices?” Dave asked cautiously.
“Yes! Have you been hearing them too?” Daina asked, excited that she wasn’t going crazy.
Dave and Daniel nodded simultaneously.
“I’ve also been feeling some kind of pull like mom is in a place she doesn’t want to be in.” Dave said.
“Do you mean kidnapped?” Daniel asked.
“Wouldn’t it be Adultnapped? Since mom is an Adult.”
“No, it would be kinda dummy!” Dave pushed his brother’s head.
“Will you guys listen to me and stop fighting like idiots!” Diana yelled.
Both boys stopped and looked at their sister.
“Sorry.”
“Sorry,” both boys said at the same time.
“So, what do we do about it? Dad said mom was okay the last time he was here.” Daniel said.
He had also felt the exact same thing his sister had described. He’d also realized he was stronger than the other kids after getting into several fights this past few weeks.
“Yes but do you honestly believe him? He was acting really strange that day. I think there’s something he’s not telling us.”
Dave said…
“Me too but whatever it is he is hiding from us the three of us agree it’s about mom’s whereabouts.”
“Should we inform the school?” Daniel was the one to ask.
“And tell them what? That we have a feeling mom is missing?”
“Yes,”
“Come on Daniel, they are not going to believe us. I barely believe us and I’ve been hearing the same voices you’ve been hearing.”
“We need to find her by ourselves. We are the only ones who can!” Diana said with boldness.
“But how? We are locked up in this dreadful school!”
Daniel complained.
“We’ll sneak out and take matters into our own hands.”
Diana said.
“Why can’t we just tell dad about this? He’s an adult and he knows what to do. We are just kids. How are we going to find mom?”
“Because we can feel her or whatever this is. We know she’s in danger and we can somewhat smell her or am I the only one that can?”
Diana looked around for answers.
“No, you are not.”
“Good. Besides, dad isn’t going to tell us anything. He’ll just lie again like before.”
“You are right. Tomorrow we’ll escape then.*
“Yes, tomorrow,” Dave said, followed by Daniel.
They all placed their hands on top of each other and made a deal.
“Be here by 8pm tomorrow.”
Dave said and they all nodded and went back to their dorms.

THE NEXT DAY
Outside of the school premises, the kids have been going from places to places searching for their mother. They’d had a trail of where she could possibly be and had followed said trail with their sense of smell.
They knew their father would be furious with them for leaving school, but they had thought if they brought back their mother then their father could forgive them.
It was their second day In the street looking for Larrissa. They stopped to buy some street food with the credit card they’d stolen from the matron to eat.
“I’m so tired,” Daniel whined.
“Me too,” Diana added, “maybe we’ll take a little break today and look for her tomorrow. She couldn’t have gotten that far.” Diana said to her brothers with confidence.
“I can still sense her but it’s faint,” Daniel noticed.
Dave, who had been buying something to eat from a bodega, ran back to his siblings.
“Guys!” He yelled as he neared them.
“I think I’ve found someone that can help us with mom,”
“Who?” Daniel and Diana perked up.
“Over there,” Dave pointed to a woman, walking towards them.
“Hello there kids,” the lady said and the kids could immediately sense something in her that was familiar to the same scent they got from their mother and each other.
And it made them feel safe.
“Hi, miss,” the triplets waved.
“My name is Alvina, what’s yours?”
